I recently visited Lens Mills Brantford, to check out the Fabric Selection, pricing, notions, tools and overall shopping experience. I also grab 2 cuts of fabric to measure at home. To test their overall accuracy back at home.

Here is my full breakdown fabric store review of my visit.

Just as a quick note, before getting started. I do not accept of money, or gifts for my review. I try my very best to not have the staff working, figure I am reviewing the store, so they will act as they would, if you were visiting them.

Store Information

Store Name: Len's Mills Store

Location: Brantford

Type of Store: Craft, Fabric and Variety Store

Date Visited: July 2nd 2026

First Impressions

Small Sample of the tools, rulers, etc sectional available

I feel that I should start with a little disclosure. This is my main Fabric store, my go-to. So I knew I would love the store, but still want to review the store for my 1st Review.

If you are looking for a Fabric Store, this a great one. Its well light, with wide aisles and some friendly staff.

The Cashier says "Hello" to everyone who walks in the door. In addition to the end of aisle signs, the fabric racks are also labelled, so you can find the exact section of fabric you need, or didn't know you needed.

I will warn you , this store is on a warehouse type setting, and had concrete floors. Wearing comfortable shoes, is a must!

Fabric Selection

Solid Colour Fabric Selection, sorted by brand

These guys have (Fabrics)

There is s large selection of quilting cottons.

Both big brand names like Tula Pink and Kona, and some smaller brands too.

There is 3 different brands of solids, making colour matching a breeze. I also think I could find any fabric related to given theme, from Airplanes to Zebras.

There also have a huge selection of apparel fabrics. If you need Knits, linen, or denim. There is a selection of colours, themed and different weights.

There is also a selection of some more specialty fabrics.

The is Vinyl, batting, felt of rolls, cork, .....

All these have many different colours and designs.

The batting selection is especially great, as they have different types, from 100% cotton, cotton/bamboo blends, Cotton/Polyester blend and 100% Polyester.

Sales Sections

If you love a deal, these guys are the place. Huge section for clearance fabrics, and they have rotating deals that have extra discounts on the Clearance fabrics.

There is also am extra discount for finishing a bolt.

My favourite sale they do is Black Friday, where any fabric with any black, is discounted. I usually grab a few metres of solid Black that day

I did also check out their website and found their flyer, with coupons.

Well I was there, they had a 75% off clearance sale. So the already 50% or more fabric was discounted in more. One of the fabrics I grabbed was only a couple dollars for a whole yard!

Notions, Supplies & Tools

Store aisle lined with shelves of colorful decorative trims, ribbons and tassels, with a shopping cart in front.
One side of one Aisle of the notions and laces available

There are aisles of notions, supplies and tools.

There whole side of an aisle for just the tools, for almost any kind of sewing.

Ribbons, and lace. I saw every colour imaginable, with different selection for widths and themes. They also had some whole spool options available for bigger projects.

Buttons, they got. From everyday basics to very on theme buttons.

There was 2 brands of zippers, with a lot of vary in style, colour and length. They also had a small selection of zipper pulls for zipper repairs.

There is a great selection of Interfacing, Tulle and patterns as well. They are definite one stop store for most your fabric creation needs,

Cutting table

Staff & Cutting Table Experience

Staff was very helpful. I was the only one in line, so I didn't have to wait long. In fact the 2 staff members were cutting my fabric, so the process was even faster.

They have 3 spots to cut fabric, and I have been there on some crazy sales and they are all being used!

They used fabric scissors to cut the fabric, with no ruler, so I would recommend grabbing a tiny bit more fabric then needed, in case the cut is not straight. However I will be testing the accuracy of the cuts soon.

Cut Accuracy Test

Final measurements of Fabrics

I really loved this fabric - so got a Yard cut the fabric. Since I feel like making something with it.

I also grab a 5" strip of these other fabric, as smaller cuts are harder to get accurate.

5- Inch Cut

Requested: 5 inches

Actual measurement: 7 inches

Yard Cut

Requested 36 inches

Actual Measurement: 38 inches

I will note that these fabrics have not been squared up, as even cut so the edge is a straight line. So having extra, especially since they use scissors to cut fabric, is really good.

I don't like to square up my fabric until I use the fabric, just in cause it frays. However based on lining up the ruler, where I would cut, once the fabric is squared up, I will have the amount of fabric requested, even maybe a bit extra.

Overall Rating

Fabric Selection - 5/5

Pricing - 4/5

Store Experience - 4/5

Cut Accuracy - 5/5

Final Rating: 5/5 Bobbins

Overall, Len's Mills is a great option for almost every type of Sewist. Especially of you are starting a new project and need that one stop shop, to get everything. It was a struggle to not purchase more then you planned on. Especially with the 75% off sale. I did end up getting a couple extra cuts of fabric for some future projects.

They have a lot more then Fabric and sewing. They have yarn, clothing, a pet section, baby, puzzles and a whole home goods section. I do often find myself grabbing other items for my home, gifts and crafts.

My reasoning for giving Pricing 4/5 Bobbins, even with the sale going on. Is that some full price fabrics, especially specialty fabric. Can be a bit on the expensive side. Which I totally understand that some fabrics are just going to be more expensive and have a sitting selection of them, costs the store money and space.

In Addition, For the Store Experience, I did take away the 1 Bobbin. Just due the warehouse style store, the concrete floors are always a back killer, if I pop in without running shoes on. The store does seem to provide staff with the proper mats for the cutting tables and check out counters. So that is always great to see. I also recognize this is an issue the company cant easily fix, so I don't want it to be reason not to visit, but what anyone who may have existing pain to be very aware.

I also posted a 2 video review of this visit over on my Tik Tok & Instagram, where you can see the store and some more details in action

As Always,

Happy Sewing

Fabric Store Scoreboard - I will be updating this post,. once I review a few more stores, with a link to a Tier list style post.
